“A love story of flesh and fire!”

Taras Bulba (Yul Brynner) is a Cossack leader in 16th-century Ukraine who wants his sons raised as fighters, with the Poles pressing hard on the steppes. His younger son Andrei (Tony Curtis) comes home with a different hunger, for Natalia Dubrov (Christine Kaufmann), a Polish woman. J. Lee Thompson sets that love against a father's pride and a people's war, and Andrei cannot give himself fully to either.
