In Germany in 2002, rookie cop Marc Schrader (August Diehl) is caught holding drugs during a raid on an illegal rave. His punishment is a place on a homicide case with Chief Inspector Minks (Christian Redl), where the victim is a young woman whose back has been skinned. Robert Schwentke follows the two men toward a basement, a blood-stained table, and the question of who else is next.
