Taxi Blues

A Moscow cab driver is stiffed on a fare by a passenger he can't stop thinking about. Shlykov (Pyotr Zaychenko), thick and dour and missing the old order, hunts down Lyosha (Pyotr Mamonov), a drinking saxophonist with no sense of responsibility, and makes him a lodger and a debtor. Pavel Lungin, who won Best Director at Cannes for this, keeps the camera close and the quarrels loud.
