Leigh Ann Watson (Katie Holmes) is a high-school senior one grade from valedictorian, and Mrs. Tingle (Helen Mirren), her bitter history teacher, has just handed back a project with a mark that could cost her the title. When a bid to get ahead in that class goes wrong, Leigh Ann, Luke (Barry Watson) and Jo Lynn (Marisa Coughlan) are accused of cheating.
