“Thunder buddies for life.”

Ted (Seth MacFarlane), a talking teddy bear, decides he wants to adopt a child with his wife Tami-Lynn (Jessica Barth), but the state won't recognize him as a person. John (Mark Wahlberg) and a lawyer named Samantha (Amanda Seyfried) join Ted in a legal battle against the system. MacFarlane builds the film around this absurd premise taken at face value, letting the gags pile up as the courtroom battle escalates.
