“They Broke Every Commandment in the Book!”

Charles Van Horn (Anthony Perkins) keeps losing stretches of time and can't say where he has been or what he has done. He asks his old teacher Paul Régis (Michel Piccoli) to come and help him find out, and Régis arrives at the estate of Charles's wealthy father, Théo (Orson Welles). Charles has to rely on a memory that keeps failing him, and every answer he reaches for rests on it.
