“BLOCKBUSTER ABOUT TO EXPLODE!”

Berlin lies in rubble after the war, and the unexploded bombs buried in it are still live. Six former soldiers sign on to dig them out, among them Eric Koertner (Jack Palance) and Karl Wirtz (Jeff Chandler), two men who already dislike each other. Robert Aldrich puts Palance and Chandler in the ruins, with Margot Hofer (Martine Carol) nearby, and the dud waits in the dirt between them.
