Tenchu!

Izo Okada (Shintarō Katsu) is a ronin with no money and no prospects, and he needs any way out of the hole he is in. He finds one in the Tosa clan, whose leader Hanpeita Takechi (Tatsuya Nakadai) is quick to put a desperate man to use. Hideo Gosha sets this in the last years of the Tokugawa shogunate, and Izo takes the work because he has nowhere else to go.
