Two machines arrive from the future on the same night, both looking for John Connor (Edward Furlong), a boy who has no idea anyone is hunting him. One is a T-800 (Arnold Schwarzenegger) reprogrammed to protect him, the other a T-1000 (Robert Patrick) built to kill him. James Cameron sends them after John and his mother Sarah (Linda Hamilton), who is held in a psychiatric hospital under Dr. Silberman (Earl Boen).
