Terror by Night

(1946)Directed by Roy William Neill60 minMystery, Crime, Thriller
“One way ticket to DEATH..!”

Sherlock Holmes (Basil Rathbone) boards the night train from London to Edinburgh with Dr. Watson (Nigel Bruce), hired to guard the Star of Rhodesia, a huge diamond belonging to an elderly woman of means. Within the first hour the woman's son is dead and the stone is gone, and the killer is sitting somewhere in the same car. Roy William Neill keeps everyone locked in with the suspects, where a diamond worth a fortune is reason enough for a stranger to lie.
