“The game you couldn't put down. The story you couldn't make up.”

In 1988, Henk Rogers (Taron Egerton), a video game salesman, plays a Soviet puzzle game at an electronics show and flies to Moscow to get the rights before anyone else does. There he deals with the game's creator Alexey Pajitnov (Nikita Efremov) and a tangle of officials and rival bidders, each claiming to own it. Jon S. Baird stages the negotiations as a thriller, with Henk crossing between Japan, America and the Soviet Union.
