Alok Goyal (Ayushmann Khurrana) is a journalist who wants a story worth chasing, and he finds one in Tadaka (Rashmika Mandanna), a mysterious woman who pulls him into a hidden world. After meeting her, he turns into a vampiric creature called a Betal. Aditya Sarpotdar sets Alok against Yakshasan (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) and an ancient sect, with humanity's safety resting on a man who has just become a monster himself.
