“Life is a journey you never have to take alone.”

In present-day New York, a twelve-step group for sex addicts meets in church basements and borrowed rooms. Adam (Mark Ruffalo) is five years sober and sponsors the older Mike (Tim Robbins), while the volatile Neil (Josh Gad) is only starting to take the program seriously, and Adam's first date in years brings Phoebe (Gwyneth Paltrow) into the picture. Stuart Blumberg, making his directing debut, moves between these men's lives with an even, unhurried hand.
