That Happy Couple

Juan (Fernando Fernán Gómez) is an electrician at a Madrid film studio, and his wife Carmen (Elvira Quintillá) keeps their small home running on very little. Then a soap company's contest picks them as winners, and Juan Antonio Bardem and Luis García Berlanga, making their first feature, send the pair into a prize they never expected. The two of them stand together in the glare of the promotion, still in their ordinary clothes.
