That's What I Am

“I'm a teacher. I'm a singer. I'm a writer.”

Nobody at his junior high can quite say why Mr. Simon (Ed Harris), the teacher the kids call "Big Simon," carries himself the way he does, and twelve-year-old Andy Nichol (Chase Ellison) is the one who starts to wonder. Michael Pavone sets the film among the hallways and classrooms of Andy's school, where a bright kid learns to keep his head down. Andy would rather be invisible than ridiculed, and that habit is the thing he has to give up.
