The 13 Roses

Blanca (Pilar López de Ayala) is one of thirteen young women in 1940s Spain, ordinary girls with jobs and families and ideals, whom the Francoist authorities arrest and accuse of helping the rebellion. Emilio Martínez Lázaro follows Blanca and Julia (Verónica Sánchez) into prison and the harsh questioning that comes with it. Nothing ties any of them to a crime, and Blanca holds onto her ideals while the charges pile up against her.
