The 36th Chamber of Shaolin

“He who struggles initially, might succeed eventually, and even finally.”

Liu Yu-de (Gordon Liu Chia-hui) is a student in Qing Dynasty China who wants one thing, to make the Manchu government pay for killing a fishmonger who backed the anti-government movement. His father is dead, and he runs to Shaolin Temple to learn the secretive fighting arts kept there. Lau Kar-leung puts Liu through the temple's training chambers, and he stays on, bruised and stubborn, because revenge is the only thing he has left.
