In 1977 Hong Kong, an aging kung fu master named Li Yi-Min (Hsia Hsiao-Ying) sets out across China to challenge the top Grandmaster of each province. Joseph Kuo packs the journey with fight after fight, while a plot takes shape behind the old man's back. Under the punches is a plain question of whether a lifetime of training still has to be proved in front of other people.
