The Accused

“Everything points to... the Accused!”

A student is found dead at the foot of a cliff on a nearby beach, and the death looks like a diving accident. Dr. Wilma Tuttle (Loretta Young), the psychology professor who knows better, keeps teaching while Lieutenant Ted Dorgan (Wendell Corey) starts asking her questions. William Dieterle films Wilma in her classroom and her car, a woman holding herself very still while the rain gathers outside.
