Gomez Addams (Raúl Juliá) loves his wife Morticia (Anjelica Huston), his children, and a family fortune he has no intention of spending sensibly. When a man arrives claiming to be Uncle Fester, missing for twenty-five years, the household throws a welcome party fit to wake the dead. Barry Sonnenfeld, a former cinematographer making his first feature, shoots the mansion's crypts and candelabras with a still camera and a straight face.
