The Advent Calendar

“Will you live until Christmas this year?”

Eva (Eugénie Derouand), a former dancer who can no longer walk, opens the first window of an old wooden advent calendar her friend Sophie (Honorine Magnier) has given her for Christmas. Each door holds a small surprise that reaches into her real life, and the first favors are the kind she wants. Patrick Ridremont keeps her in the same wheelchair and the same quiet apartment, with the carved wooden calendar standing on the table, its remaining doors still shut.
