Huckleberry Finn (Eddie Hodges) runs from Pap Finn (Neville Brand) and takes the river alongside Jim (Archie Moore), a runaway slave, picking up odd jobs and odd company. Michael Curtiz shoots it in CinemaScope and Technicolor, and Huck steers on, wide-eyed and unbothered, the muddy river carrying him on.
