Robin Hood (Errol Flynn) wants two things: justice for the people squeezed by Prince John (Claude Rains) and the hand of Maid Marian (Olivia de Havilland). Standing between him and both is Sir Guy of Gisbourne (Basil Rathbone), the prince's most dangerous man. Michael Curtiz and William Keighley direct it as a story about whether the law belongs to those who hold the castle or to those who act on what is right.
