The Age of the Earth

Four figures walk Brazil's tupiniquim lands, each wearing the face of Christ: an Indigenous man (Jece Valadão), a Black man (Antônio Pitanga), a soldier (Tarcísio Meira) and a guerrilla fighter (Geraldo del Rey). Against them stands John Brahms (Maurício do Valle), a foreign exploiter whose greed and "civilizing" violence they have come to fight. Glauber Rocha, in his last film, sets the four against Brahms in one long, restless fight.
