“A Story of Rags to Riches... and More Riches”

Ernest Bliss (Cary Grant) is a millionaire with nothing left to want, and a doctor who tells him he needs a purpose. So he bets he can live a full year on wages from a working class job, never touching a penny of his inheritance. Alfred Zeisler lets that wager bring Ernest into the orbit of Frances Clayton (Mary Brian), and it is she who starts to matter more than the bet.
