The Ambulance

“You'll be in perfect health before you die.”

Josh Baker (Eric Roberts) is meeting the woman of his dreams when an ambulance carries her off and never reaches the local hospital. The police, led by Lt. Spencer (James Earl Jones), don't believe him, so Josh starts looking on his own. Larry Cohen sets this in a city where a stranger can vanish in front of a crowd and nobody wants to be the one who saw it.
