The American

Jack (George Clooney) is an assassin sent to a small Italian town to wait for his next orders, and what he wants most is to be left alone with the waiting. He takes a second name, strikes up a quiet acquaintance with Father Benedetto (Paolo Bonacelli), and finds the days passing more easily than his line of work allows. Anton Corbijn frames the town in long, still shots and lets the silence do most of the talking.
