The Ancines Woods

In a small village in northern Spain, the pedlar Benito Freire (José Luis López Vázquez) suffers epileptic seizures, and the rumour starts that he is a werewolf. People are being killed, and the local Abbot (Antonio Casas) is called in to form a team to find out who is responsible. Pedro Olea, adapting Carlos Martínez-Barbeito's novel, builds the investigation out of whispers, loosely echoing the life of Manuel Blanco Romasanta.
