The Angry Black Girl and Her Monster

“Death can be cured.”

When her brother is shot dead, Vicaria (Laya DeLeon Hayes), a gifted teenager who treats death as a disease with a cure, sets out to bring him back. Bomani J. Story, in his first feature as director, loosely rebuilds the Frankenstein story around her and her grief. Vicaria stands over her brother's body, still certain, still working.
