The Apple Dumpling Gang

(1975)Directed by Norman Tokar100 min · GComedy, Family, Western
“Wanted: For chicanery, skulduggery, tomfoolery and habitual bungling!”

Quake City is a gold-rush town where everybody is hunting for a fortune. Gambler Russel Donavan (Bill Bixby) arrives to find himself looking after three orphaned children, until they stumble on a huge gold nugget, and two bumbling outlaws, Theodore Ogelvie (Don Knotts) and Amos Tucker (Tim Conway), sign on to help. Norman Tokar fills the picture with pratfalls and loud, friendly chaos, and it all runs on the idea that a family is whoever shows up.
