The Apple War

(1971)Directed by Tage Danielsson103 minComedy, Fantasy

In southern Sweden in 1971, a German businessman named Jean Volkswagner (Per Grundén) arrives to buy farmland for a huge amusement park called Deutschneyland. Not everyone in the district wants to sell, including the Lindberg family, who have a talent for magic and set about getting in his way. Tage Danielsson plays it as a village comedy, and Volkswagner, with his plans and his money, keeps turning up at the next door he has no hope of opening.
