“See wild women fight to the death!”

In ancient Rome, Mamawi (Pam Grier) and Bodicia (Margaret Markov) are sold into slavery and put to work as gladiators, trained to fight to the death for a paying crowd. Steve Carver, in his first feature, stages the bouts in the grainy, hurried look of a 70s B-picture. Mamawi has no plan for the sand beyond living through it, and the women around her are starting to look at her for more.
