Duchess (Eva Gabor), a refined Paris cat, only wants to get her three kittens home to Madame Bonfamille, who has left the family her whole fortune. The butler has other plans, and he drives them out to a country road and leaves them there. Wolfgang Reitherman sends the cats back toward the city with help from Thomas O'Malley (Phil Harris), an alley cat with a jazz band behind him, while the money and the family's place in the house stay at stake.
