The Art of Self-Defense

Casey (Jesse Eisenberg) is beaten on the street by strangers on motorcycles, and he signs up at a local karate dojo to make sure it never happens again. The Sensei (Alessandro Nivola) runs the place with a flat, unbothered authority, and Anna (Imogen Poots) is the one student who gets no respect. Riley Stearns frames the dojo in bare, even light, a row of white uniforms facing a man who never raises his voice.
