The Assassin

Nie Yinniang (Shu Qi) was taken from her family at ten by a nun and trained into an assassin who kills corrupt governors. After thirteen years she is sent home with an order to kill the cousin she was once promised to, Tian Ji'an (Chang Chen), now the head of the largest military region in North China. Hou Hsiao-hsien keeps her at the edge of each room, watching, a black-clad figure holding still.
