“Beyond the myth lies America's greatest betrayal”

It is 1881, and the James gang has dwindled to a few men and a famous name. Robert Ford (Casey Affleck), an eager young recruit who has read every story about Jesse James (Brad Pitt), is welcomed in and slowly starts to resent the man he idolized. Andrew Dominik, adapting Ron Hansen's novel, lets the story drift forward at the pace of a man waiting for the shot he already knows is coming.
