“Behind every great man is a woman... Wishing he'd get the hell out of her way.”

The Wall Street of 1996 is all glass offices and trading floors, and Laurel Ayres (Whoopi Goldberg) knows its rules from the inside. She does the work at her investment firm while men like Frank Peterson (Tim Daly) collect the credit, so she quits and opens her own shop. Donald Petrie follows her as she invents a male partner named Robert Cutty, a fiction that only holds while no client asks to meet him.
