The Aviator

In 1920s Los Angeles, Howard Hughes (Leonardo DiCaprio) arrives as a young heir determined to make films and break aviation records. He falls into an affair with actress Ava Gardner (Kate Beckinsale) while also pursuing Katharine Hepburn (Cate Blanchett), a woman who matches his hunger. Scorsese frames Hughes's rise in saturated color and baroque camera movement, then watches him accumulate power until the weight of it closes in.
