The Awakening of Motti Wolkenbruch

Motti Wolkenbruch (Joel Basman) is a young Orthodox Jew whose mother, Mrs. Silberzweig (Sunnyi Melles) among the matchmakers she enlists, keeps presenting him with marriage candidates. None of them suits him, because every one looks just like her. Michael Steiner follows Motti as he starts a secret, unlikely friendship with Laura (Noémie Schmidt), a non-Jewish woman, and what he risks with his family and his community grows with every visit.
