Lucy Warriner (Irene Dunne) wants out of her marriage to Jerry (Cary Grant), and neither of them can prove the other did anything wrong. Leo McCarey sends the two into divorce court, where each takes up with someone new, Lucy with the earnest Dan Leeson (Ralph Bellamy) and Jerry with a fresh crowd of his own. The two keep turning up at each other's dates, and Lucy, who insists she's finished with him, can't stay away.
