The Baby

The call comes for Joseph (Fabrice Luchini): his son and his son's companion are dead, and a baby they ordered is still on its way, carried by a surrogate in Belgium. He drives north to find Rita (Mara Taquin), the young Flemish woman who is pregnant with the child and has no use for a grandfather. Guillaume Nicloux puts the two of them in the same room, where a man grieving his son has to deal with a stranger who holds the only piece of him left.
