Richard Nugent (Cary Grant) is a playboy painter whose studio gets a visitor he never invited: Susan (Shirley Temple), a teenager with a severe crush who slips in to model for him. Her older sister, Judge Margaret Turner (Myrna Loy), finds her there and threatens him with jail unless he dates the girl until it fades. Irving Reis leaves Grant standing in his own apartment, a man cornered by a judge.
