The Bad and the Beautiful

“I took you out of the gutter... I can fling you back!”

Producer Harry Pebbel (Walter Pidgeon) gathers a director, a star and a writer who each swore never to work with Jonathan Shields (Kirk Douglas) again, and they all tell him the same thing. Each one's story of Shields comes back as a flashback, with Georgia Lorrison (Lana Turner) among them. Vincente Minnelli shoots Hollywood as a place of polished surfaces and a little too much light.
