The Ballad of Buster Scruggs

(2018)Directed by Joel Coen, Ethan Coen132 min · RWestern, Comedy
“Stories live forever. People don't.”

The war has just ended, and the old West is full of people heading somewhere with little to show for it. Joel and Ethan Coen cut six stories from that country, starting with Buster Scruggs (Tim Blake Nelson), a sharpshooting songster who rides in singing. The rest follow a would-be bank robber, two weary performers, a lone prospector, a woman bound west, and strangers sharing a carriage, each a different way of trying to survive the frontier.
