In the aftermath of the Civil War, six separate stories unfold across the American frontier. A sharpshooter named Buster Scruggs (Tim Blake Nelson) rides with his partner The Kid (Willie Watson), a bank robber named Curly Joe (Clancy Brown) confronts his brother, and others move through saloons and roadsides chasing money, revenge, or escape. What these stories share is not a plot but a lesson: the frontier rewards violence until it doesn't.
