The Ballad of Wallis Island

“He's getting the band back together.”

Charles Heath (Tim Key) won the lottery, and he has spent it on one wish: getting the folk duo he loves to play a private concert on the remote island where he lives alone. Herb McGwyer (Tom Basden) arrives believing it is a solo job, unaware that Charles has also invited his old bandmate Nell Mortimer (Carey Mulligan). James Griffiths films the island, the songs and the awkward silences at an easy pace, and he leaves the two men plenty of room to be ridiculous.
