The Banshees of Inisherin

“Everything was fine yesterday.”

One afternoon in 1923, Pádraic Súilleabháin (Colin Farrell) knocks for his old drinking partner, Colm Doherty (Brendan Gleeson), on a remote island off the Irish coast, and Colm won't answer. He no longer wants Pádraic's company, and he says so plainly. Martin McDonagh sets two men against each other over the end of a friendship, and the bluntness of that ending is what makes the damage between them so hard to stop.
