The Bare-Footed Kid

Nobody in the city knows who Kuan Feng-Yao (Aaron Kwok Fu-shing) is, only that he turns up barefoot and poor from the country with his dead father's name as his one introduction. A friend of that father, Tuan Ching-Yun (Ti Lung), takes him in and finds him work, which puts him among the people Maggie Cheung Man-yuk's Miss Ho knows well. Johnnie To's remake of a 1975 Shaolin picture keeps the boy's bare feet in view as he steps into a place he has no way to read.
