The Battle at Lake Changjin

“Do they fall out of the goddamn sky?”

Wu Qianli (Wu Jing), a Chinese People's Volunteer Army officer, wants to bring his men through the winter of 1950 alive, and his younger brother Wu Wanli (Jackson Yee) has followed him into the same unit. Tsui Hark and Chen Kaige, working with a third director, Dante Lam, follow them to the Changjin Lake region, where Chinese and American elite troops are about to meet. Tan Ziwei (Duan Yihong) and Mei Sheng (Zhu Yawen) stand among the soldiers in the snow.
