The Baxter

“A romantic comedy for anyone who's ever been dumped.”

In a small, ordinary corner of the world, Elliot Sherman (Michael Showalter) does taxes, wears sock garters, and enjoys raking leaves. He is the man bosses and parents adore, and the one who gets dumped in the last reel of every romantic comedy, a role the film calls a "Baxter." Showalter, who also wrote it, plays the whole thing with a perfectly straight face.
