The Beach Bum

“You gotta go low to get high.”

Moondog (Matthew McConaughey) is a stoner poet in the Florida Keys who wants to finish his new novel and be taken seriously by his daughter. His wife Minnie (Isla Fisher) has died in a car accident, and his share of her estate now depends on a book he can't seem to sit down and write. Harmony Korine lets him wander the islands with Lingerie (Snoop Dogg) and Flicker (Zac Efron), and the film treats his drifting as a way of living, not a failure to be fixed.
